Backthe idle speed screw out until the throttle plate next to the screw is completely closed. Connect the positive test lead of my Fluke Meter to the pink wire on the TPS. Connect the negative test lead to the orange wire. The correct meter reading is volts at closed throttle. Adjust sensor until correct reading is attained.
Thethrottle position sensor reports the position of the gas pedal to the computer in your car (Engine Control Unit). The computer then determines the position of the throttle plate. It also calculates the amount of air flow to the engine and the amount of fuel to be injected for the required ratio of air-fuel mixture.
Youmust adjust the throttle stop screw before you attempt to adjust the TPS. 1. Loosen the jam nut and unscrew the throttle stop screw all the way so that the throttle blade closes fully against the throttle body itself. 2. Turn the stop screw back in until it just touches the linkage, then turn in ¼ turn more.
Throttleposition sensor is on the right side of the throttle pedal, it reads throttle position (angle) off the pivot shaft. It's held in place by two 7mm head screws. The bottom one is a bit of a bugger to get to, you can grind a 1/4" drive 7mm socket shorter to get it out. Part #45 in this image. Part number should be JW2-H5885-00-00
